TED talk. Why do we sleep?

Sleeping at night enhances your creativity and allows you to learn. If you don't sleep, you don't "fly". Teenagers need 9 hours of sleep for brain performance, and many are just getting 5 hours, which is not enough. 31% of drivers fall asleep while driving at least one point in their life. When you don't get enough sleep, you resort to other things such as caffeine or alcohol. Those who sleep 5 hours or less each night are 50% more likely to be obese. To get to sleep: 1) dark room 2) turn off electronics 3) try not to drink caffeine after lunch. Myth: Old people need less sleep. Sleep disruption precedes mental dispositions. Sleep disruption can make a mental illness worse. If you have good sleep it increases your concentration, attention, decision making, and health.
